That the Balfour Community Development Area Subcommittee confirms the minutes of the meeting  held on 19 February 2018 as a true and correct record of that meeting.

Community Partnership Leader – Kelly Tagg was in attendance for this item.

 

She took the Subcommittee through the report and highlighted the following;

·                     LED Streetlight Replacement Programme

·                     Representation Review

·                     Community Organisation and Volunteer Sector Shared Services Pilots

·                     Venture Southland Community Development

·                     Finance for the Balfour Community Development Area Subcommittee

 

Councillor Dillon highlighted the following;

 

·                     Three waters review

·                     Roading GPS

·                     Freedom Camping

·                     Forestry

·                     Te Anau Wastewater Discharge Project

·                     Pyramid Bridge update

·                     New Toilet discussions for Balfour

That the Balfour Community Development Area Subcommittee:

a)            Receives the report titled “Council Report” dated 23 April 2018.

 

 

8.1         Chairperson’s Report

 

                The Chair, Member Langford reported on activities with which he has been involved since the Subcommittee’s last meeting. This included the following;

 

·                     Flooding issues outside Balfour Primary School

·                     Dog issues at Recreation Grounds

·                     Balfour Letters for old Railway Shed (Member Maginn to follow up with Canvart)

 

 

7.2

Development of Kruger Street Property

Record No: R/18/5/11393

Kelly Tagg Community Partnership Leader took the Subcommittee through the report by Ian Marshall on the costs, benefits and risks of developing a subdivision of unused land in Kruger Street, Balfour so as to create a number of residential sections to make them available for sale..

 

 

 

Resolution

Moved Chairman Roy, seconded Member Eaton

That the Balfour Community Development Area Subcommittee:

a)            Receives the report titled “Development of Kruger Street Property” dated 23 May 2018.

 

b)           Determines that this matter or decision be recognised not significant in terms of Section 76 of the Local Government Act 2002.

 

c)            Determines that it has complied with the decision-making provisions of the Local Government Act 2002 to the extent necessary in relation to this decision; and in accordance with Section 79 of the Act determines that it does not require further information, further assessment of options or further analysis of costs and benefits or advantages and disadvantages prior to making a decision on this matter.

 

d)           Ask officers to engage a Real Estate Agent to list the  proposed new allotments in Kruger Street.

 

 

8.1         Chairperson’s Report

 

                The Chair, Member Langford reported on activities with which he has been involved since the Subcommittee’s last meeting. This included the following;
